Internship Report on Core Risk Management Practices of Sonali Bank Limited

An internship program is very important & essential for acquiring experience through learning and spreading the scope of Knowledge. I have done my internship program in Sonali Bank Campus Corporate Branch, Dhaka.

This internship Report is aimed at providing a comprehensive picture to the areas of core risk management of Sonali Bank. The Report has been divided in to five parts. These are: 1) Introduction, 2) An Overview of Sonali Bank, 3) Asset Liability Management, 4) Credit Risk Management, 5) Foreign Exchange Risk Management 6) Money Laundering Risk Management 7) Internal Control and Compliance 8)Findings, Recommendation, Conclusion and References.

Sonali Bank is the largest commercial Bank of Bangladesh. The Bank is fully owned by the government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The main objective of the Bank is to provide all of banking services at the doorsteps of the people. The Bank also participates in various Social and Development programs and also takes part in implementation of various policies and promises made by the Government.

Internship Report On Default Risk Management of EXIM Bank Ltd.

Default risk management is a dynamic field where a certain standard of long-range planning is needed to allocate the fund in diverse field and to minimize the risk and maximizing the return on the invested fund. The objective of the default risk management is to maximize the performing asset and the minimization of the non-performing asset as well as ensuring the optimal point of loan and advance and their efficient management. Continuous supervision, monitoring and follow-up are highly required for ensuring the timely repayment and minimizing the default. Actually the credit portfolios not only constitute the bank’s asset structure but also a vital factor of the bank’s success. The overall success in credit management depends on the banks credit policy, portfolio of credit, monitoring, supervision and follow-up of the loan and advance. Therefore, while analyzing the credit management of banks, each risk managers or risk officers are required to analyze its credit policy, credit procedure and quality of credit portfolio.

Economy is the strength of any country’s development and the expansion power with the rapid growth of sustainability. So retain this sustainability is the core jingle of any country in today. Bank is the major and supreme actor of this development and sustainability. Commercial bank plays an imperative role in the economic development of a nation through the fluctuation of interest rate where we know that this interest rate is the major role player in a financial growth. So it is more crucial for an economy to judge this interest rate fluctuation in a hasty movement and adjust this fluctuation with the proper way of monetary policy. Specifically Central Bank of our Country i.e. Bangladesh Bank always put their attention in this interest rate and try to adjust this interest rate through the controlling inflation and recession. And commercial banks of Bangladesh play this role directly and indirectly in various economic sectors with adequate supervision and monitoring of Central Bank which ultimately led to the economic solvency or net worth of financial institution as well as economical growth of a country.
