Internship Report on Human Resource Management (HRM) System of Palli Bidyut Samity in Bangladesh- A case of public and private sector.

Human Resource Management (HRM) system is the mandatory to analyze for an effective and specific development in an organization. In order to achieve the organizational objectives every organization is made up of people. Acquiring their services, developing their skills and experiences, motivating them to top levels of performance and ensuring that they continue to maintain their commitment to the organization are very much essential. The currently important role of HRM is reflected in the transformation of the personnel management function from one of concentrating on employee welfare to one of managing people in a way which matches organizational and individual goals.
The constant worry of all personnel administration is their inability to prove that they are making a contribution to the enterprise. They have a persistent complaint that personnel management is all those things that do not deal with the work of people and that are not management. In contrast developing countries like Singapore, Malaysia, China and India have as their prime focus to get the basics rights ensuring that payroll and effective recruitment and performance management practice are in place.
It is an imperative that HR managers understand the nature of the business in which they are operating and be allowed to contribute to the formulation of there organization’s strategic plan. The trick is to determine how one can contribute to ensuring that the strategic plan is implemented.

Therefore, acquisition, development, motivation and maintenance function of knowledge workers in organizations have become more critical and ultimately the importance of human resource department have increased and HRM has become a centre of business concern. Rural Electrification Board (REB) as well as Palli Bidyut Samity (PBS) are trying their best to providing better HRM systems in Bangladesh.

HRM systems in the Palli Bidyut Samity in Bangladesh is not practiced separately. We will look into the officers of HRM system of how they are functioning. Whether HRM system in PBS is sufficient to achieve the organizational goals. To have a unique solution of the HRM development this thesis will assist a lot. Acquisition, Development, Motivation, and Maintenance are the four main areas of HRM to be developed through our findings.
