Assignment on Population Size and Growth Compared with Continent and the World

Human beings have been around for at least 200,000 years. For almost all of that time, their presence on the earth was scarcely noticeable. Population is the single most important set of events ever to occur in human history. It has changed and continues to alter the way of life in even the most remote corners of the earth. The number of people added to the world each day is unprecedented in history and unparalleled in its consequences. We now live in a world crowded not only with people but with contradiction. There are more highly educated people than ever before yet also more illiterates; more rich people but also more poor; more well-fed children and also more hunger-ravaged babies whose images haunt us. We have better control over the environment than ever before, but we are damaging our living space in ways we are afraid to imagine.
Now the following description will focus on the most recent population size of Bangladesh compared with that of its continent and the world, also indicate what proportion the country’s and continent’s population is of the world.

Objectives:
The main objectives of this assignment are to create knowledge about the population growth of Bangladesh and comparison with its continent with the world and summarised the present population situation of the country.
The specific objectives of this study are:
  • To gain an understanding about the overall situation of population growth;
  • To identify the most recent population size compared with of its continent and the world;
  • To indicate what proportion the continent’s population is of the world;
  • To know the rate of growth resulting from natural increase;
Methodology of the Study:
The study would be descriptive in nature and attempts would be made to make the study informative with updated data. The whole study has been divided mainly into the following parts;

  • Part one of the study will describe the present condition of the selected country named Bangladesh;
  • The second part will focus on the population of its continent named Asia;
  • The third part will focus on the world population growth and other;
  • The fourth part will highlight the comparison with that of its continent ;
  • It will focus the comparison with that of its continent and the world;
  • It will also focus on the distribution of population referring to urban-rural dichotomy in each category for country, continent and the total world;
  • The overall data will be collected in qualitative way;
Now at first I select the nation named Bangladesh and then described the most recent population size of Bangladesh compared with that of its continent and the world, also indicate what proportion the country’s and continent’s population is of the world.

Bangladesh is situated in southern Asia, on the delta of the 2 largest rivers on the Indian subcontinent—the Ganges and Jamuna (Brahmaputra). It borders with India in the west, north, and east, with Burma (also known as Myanmar) in the southeast, and with the Bay of Bengal in the south. The country's area is 144,000 square kilometers (55,598 square miles), and it is divided into 7 administrative divisions (Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Rajshai, Rangpur and Sylhet) and 4 major municipal corporations (Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna and Rajshahi). Comparatively, the territory of Bangladesh is slightly greater than the state of New York. Bangladesh's capital city, Dhaka, is located in the central part of the country. Bangladesh occupies the eastern part of the Bengal region (the western part of the region is occupied by the Indian state of West Bengal), which historically was part of the great civilizations in the northeast of the Indian subcontinent.
