An internship report on Credit Management of Uttara Bank Ltd.
Uttara Bank Ltd. is one of the largest and front ranking first generation, oldest private-sector commercial bank in Bangladesh, with years of experience. Adaptation of modern technology both in terms of equipment and banking practice ensures efficient service to clients. The Bank has been carrying out business through its 211 branches spreading all over the country. The management of the bank consists of a team led by senior bankers with vast experience in national and international markets. The bank has more than 600 foreign correspondents world wide.
As we know the credit department is allied with the definition of the banking. Through this department bank makes a bridge with the deficit sector of the economy. This department of the bank is most important as this unit ensures interest income- the key source of earnings of banks. The history of the banking industry points toward many banks, which have become penniless due to the mismanagement of the credit department. My study is on Credit Management of Uttara Bank Ltd.
The report starts with the introductory part, which contains the first element about organizational information of Uttara Bank followed by the second component, which describes the business of the organization.
The project part, the essence of the report, continues the second half of the report. It starts with the types of credit of UBL, and then comes the discussion of loan processing, which contains the discussion of how the bank manage its loan from very early of the loan application to the loan disbursement. The necessary documentation procedure and the required documents that are needed to allot a loan are narrated here. Loan and advance is not free from the restrictions, the restrictions of loan and advance is discussed here in this part also.
The analysis proposal of loan and advance comes next. In this part, it is narrated that before taking decision of loan disbursement the bank needs to prepare Credit Information Bureau (CIB) report to analysis of the project feasibility from which the bank is going to allot the loan amount. How the credit officers analyze Credit Risk and Borrower Rating is focused here in this section of the report. The management of the loan actually starts after the sanctioning of the loan, because the efficiency of the credit manager is laid in fast recovery of the disbursed loan amount.

The internship program helps me to learn more about the practical situation of a financial institution. Exim Bank is a newly formed bank in Bangladesh. which started its operation as a conventional banking, later it convert its operation from conventional to Shariah based banking for the sake of customers demand. Though exim bank is a third generation bank incorporated in 2nd June ,1999, it work as a professional way. exim bank does the normal tasks of any other financial institution such as : Account opening, provide advance, act as a advising and negotiating bank. For all of the tasks three separate department( Customer Satisfaction, Customer Service, Product and advance) are responsible. But Customer Service is crucial one. because it deals with customers spontaneously. So the person employed in banking System are very much friendly with the customers. Exim bank does not use full on- line banking for that reason it face difficulty to provide on-line services to the customers.
Most of the Export Import bank get through Customer Satisfaction operations, . Banking operations start with A/c opening. That means if any want to maintain a relation with bank, at first he/she must open an account whether it is SB, CD ,or any other A/C. When a person want to open a bank account he has to provide some document to the bank as per requirement of different A/C. After opening a bank A/C a person can involve in any other department of the bank. So, in that report at first I focused on the account opening section, than remittances, cash, deposit and clearance section. All of the sections have to work with each other.

Internship Report on Human Resource Management Practices at Eastern Bank Limited
The study of this report is focused on how the Human Resource Management (HRM) Practices at Eastern Bank Limited are carried out. Eastern Bank Limited (EBL), one of the most prominent banks of Bangladesh, commenced its journey in 1992 as the successor of former Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). In achieving this vision, EBL realizes the importance of taking due care of all the constituents, particularly the shareholders, customers and workforce. Plans, structures, programs and systems are not self actuating, they can only be implemented, maintained and realized through people. Its people – the most crucial resources – who serve as the catalyst, the activating and energizing force, making possible the utilization of all other resources and enabling an organization to achieve its goals.
Internship report on Effectiveness of communication tools in creating brand awareness
A case study of The Farmers Bank Limited (Motijheel Branch)
The Farmers Bank Limited (FBL) is one of the newest banks in the private sector. It has commenced its commercial operations from mid-2013.However the competition in the banking industry has intensified more than ever before .Global financial crisis, stock market crash, recessions and other factors affected the banking industry. So banks should position themselves at a unique place in the minds of the customers by offering attractive offers such as higher interest rates or by offering superior service and also to use the marketing communication tools effectively so that the customer can memorize something about the product and come to the bank to perceive their desired product, because without creating the brand awareness by using the tools the customer cannot get the information regarding the products performance and obviously we have to provide good customer services include financial advice, flexible rates or dates of payment, portfolio management etc.

Internship Report on Financial Performance of First Security Islami Bank Limited
The commercial banks (CBs) have been playing a vital role in the economy of Bangladesh. Amongst the financial institutions, commercial banks constitute the heart of the financial structure since they have the ability to add the money supply and thus create additional purchasing power.
The banking sector is considered to be an important source of financing for most businesses. Banks take deposits from savers, paying interest on some of these accounts. They pass these funds on to borrowers, receiving interest on the loans. Their profits are derived from the spread between the rate they pay for funds and the rate they receive from borrowers. This ability to pool deposits from many sources that can be lent to many different borrowers creates the flow of funds inherent in the banking system.

Historically, Bangladesh followed a development strategy in which private investment was controlled through a host of regulations involving investment sanctioning, credit disbursement, import licensing, foreign exchange allocation, etc. While these regulatory barriers thwarted private investment in general, the impact fell unevenly on SMEs. In the year 2005 the GDP growth in our country was registered at 6.9 per cent. The largest growth came from industrial sector, which is 8.5 per cent. The large-medium and small-scale industry grew by 8.7 per cent and 7.9 percent respectively. Uttara Bank Limited has offer a broad array of innovative financial services to match the specific requirement of the client ranging from large corporate houses, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to private individuals. As credit application requires availability adequate information, most of the SMEs do not have adequate information. They do not maintain their financial statement appropriately of the business; even they do not feel the necessity of doing so. That’s why Banks are not getting appropriate information regarding their business and themselves as well. Bangladesh has 47 banks and 29 non-bank financial institutions. As of June, the outstanding SME loans stood at Tk 360,564 crore, which is 20.12 percent of the total loans and advances.

The new millennium is characterized by competition in all areas of business including banking business. A bank must innovate and evolve to be a leader with a unified goal of greater customer outreach and satisfaction.
Bank Asia Limited is one of the few banks permitted by the Bangladesh bank in the late 90s. In the beginning of 2001 Bank Asia acquired the operations of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Bangladesh. In September 2001 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Muslim Commercial Bank Limited (MCB) of Pakistan to take over their operations in Bangladesh. Eventually MCB’s operation ware taken over through acquisition with effect from January 1, 2010. The acquisitions have provided wider access to Bank Asia regionally and internationally and helped the Bank to expand its clientele.
